Mimax was born in 2008 completely ignoring the indicative in relation to the financial and economic crisis that has just begun and converting the crisis into an opportunity.
In this first stage, Mimax distributes products from other foreign manufacturers in the national market as well as domestic manufacturers in export markets.
This activity allows us to create, maintain and consolidate an important client portfolio that will allow us to strongly start growth and expansion.
Our facilities in the first stage are extremely modest, but the illusion to grow doing things well and above all, to have a clear idea of where and how we want to get there along with a huge desire to work, altogether catapult us to the next phase.
Mimax moves to the premises at França St. in Igualada, where we will remain until 2016. Our facilities in this period and the increase in our workforce help us a lot to manage a sustained growth over time.
We start to design our own products, with the help of proven external designers and the first own brand catalog goes on the market.
The Led-Decore concept is born. A concept of decorative lighting using LED technology exclusively as a light source, demonstrating that functionality and aesthetics can be linked hand in hand. Form & Function.
Mimax introduces the Shine series, which at that time is an incredible novelty in the market (use of the Led strip in geometrically random shapes that illuminate spaces efficiently and decorate with modernity).
This idea will be subsequently used by several competitors, but today, Mimax continues to sell the Shine series with a lot of push, permanently providing the products with additional features: remote controls, control and selection of color temperature, light intensity regulation , etc …

The transfer to the premises at Gran Bretanya St. consolidates the growth of Mimax at all levels, acquiring the facilities instead of leasing a space, increasing the assets of the company and ensuring the beginning of a stage of maturity that allows us to design many more products and manufacture them following high standards of quality and rigor.
2016 also means a qualitative and quantitative jump in our expansion in Europe, with the start of participation in International Fairs, as is the case of Light & Building in the 2016 edition.
Mimax starts a new project. We decided to design and manufacture a collection of ceiling fans by improving the standards existing at that time in the industry with a clear slogan: provide the products with additional and improved features in relation to similar products of the competition, exercise moderation in the commercial margins and offering the customer clear competitive advantages.
Mimax in collaboration with iseecows Studio designs the 10th anniversary logo. A fresh, friendly, clear logo and above all a logo that respects the essence of the first day and projects the company and its vision to the future.
Mimax lighting catalogs reach the offer of 2,500 products, covering the entire spectrum of needs that a customer may have when lighting a space or giving it a soul.
The first FANS catalog is launched, as a result of the efforts of the previous year. The catalog is received with a success that exceeds the expectations created.
